Radiohead Explain Decision Not To Play Glastonbury

Radiohead have explained why they turned down the chance to perform at Glastonbury Festival.

"We could have slotted it in. But we didn't want to," says guitarist Ed O'Brien. "Thom's spoken to Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis. The reason we didn't do it was because we did it on the 'Hail To the Thief' tour."

"We felt it wasn't appropriate to do it this year because we didn't want to be the Glastonbury house band. It's such a special gig, it's almost like you have to wait your turn." O'Brien told the Daily Record.

It was initially claimed that Radiohead didn't want to perform at the annual event this year due to environmental issues - something frontman Thom Yorke later denied.
